Mahmoud Ghaddar is a Lebanese artist born and raised in Lebanon. Largely self-taught, he began making art at a young age and has continued to develop his practice through experimentation, curiosity, and a lasting love of the creative process.

His work moves between acrylic painting, textured relief, and three-dimensional mixed media. Flowers, horses, abstract forms, nature, and scenes of village and countryside life appear throughout his work. Rather than limiting himself to a single technique, he works with acrylic, plaster, foam, wood, concrete, gold leaf, jewellery, accessories, and found objects, often combining materials in unexpected ways.

For Ghaddar, depth and dimension give a work a presence beyond the traditional painted surface. In his relief pieces, he often builds the structure before applying paint, allowing texture, shadow, and changing light to become part of the composition. His decisions are guided less by a fixed theme than by instinct: an interest in what feels visually striking, distinctive, and worth bringing into form.

Many of his works have been made for or shared with friends and family. This site brings the wider body of work together as both a portfolio and an ongoing archive of his practice.

I make art because I love the process, and because it keeps me moving forward. I am drawn to subjects that feel alive, but I do not want to be limited by one subject or material. When I create relief work, I build the surface before I paint it. The added depth gives each piece its own physical presence and allows me to turn unexpected materials into something new.
